Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: hal
Under Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy, automounting of my Samsung SPF-85H photo frame
fails. Two new icons, both named "USB Drive", appear in gnome but none
of them mounts.
gnome-mount -vbd /dev/sdg1 gives:
gnome-mount 0.8
** (gnome-mount:12510): DEBUG: Mounting
/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/volume_part1_size_1040171008
GConf Error: Bad key or directory name:
"/system/storage/default_options/(null)/fstype_override": `(' is an invalid
character in key/directory names
** (gnome-mount:12510): DEBUG: Mounting
/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/volume_part1_size_1040171008 with mount_point='',
fstype='', num_options=0
** Message: Mount failed for
/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/volume_part1_size_1040171008
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod : Method "Mount" with signature "ssas"
on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" doesn't exist
Mounting manually works fine with, e.g.,
sudo mount -t vfat /dev/sdg1 /media/Samsung_SPF-85H -o
rw,user,noauto,noexec,utf8
I've attached the udev log as described in
