Public bug reported:

No soundoutput is coming by default.
On Sound Preferences application can't heard anything
when testing "autodetect device",

VIA 8237 with ALC658D VUA 8237 (ALSA) it says:
audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512!
audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink:
Could not open audio device for playback

Same with OSS it works after chmod 777 /dev/*
That didn't affect to alsa or pulseaudio tho.

PulseAudio Sound Server doesn't work either.

I have just updated 9.04 ubuntu so all packages should be on nevest.
I've tested this also by another applications like vlc player and skype so its
not
Audio settings application whats bugged, prob...

I have
Athlon 64 3000+
Abit KV8 Pro
(http://www.abit.com.tw/page/no/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=KV8+Pro&fMTYPE=Socket+754)
2Gb RAM

Tell if you need some another information.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
