*** This has been resolved *** This has been fixed for me since the last version of Thunderbird. I'm now using Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 and I'm able to hear a .wav file when I receive new email. I believe this really was a bug or problem with Thunderbird instead of Ubuntu. I posted this same problem on Mozilla's forum a while ago also. Thx for responding. I'm still loving Kubuntu and I'm trying to convert more windows users.
