It fixes the bug for me, now it needs some testing and feedback from others.
It can be easily tested by installing the PPA package and starting conduit in the usual way. If the fix works, the user should see the menus in his/her language -provided that there is a translation. There are some strings which are not yet translated, but this is unrelated to this bug.
