I have the same problem on 64-bit Intrepid, to which I recently upgraded
from 8.04 because of hibernation problems.

After having hibernation problems with Ubuntu 8.04 which suddenly
stopped working for unknown reasons (to me, at least) I decided to
finally upgrade to 8.10. In 8.04 hibernate takes "forever" and will
sometimes work but most often doesn't. Now, with 8.10 hibernate seems to
be working except for the wifi problems after resume.

I am using an MSI S270 (1013) laptop, running 64-bit Intrepid with
RT2500 wireless chipset. My problem is that after resuming from
hibernate, the wireless is no longer recognized by the system so it
doesn't work.

$ifconfig

will only list my ethernet port but not my wireless.
