I had the same problem at first with my HP Pavilion DV5-1124CA , using Intrepid, but now, I can successfully suspend and resume. Here's what I did (3 steps):
1. I'm now using kernel 2.26.7.11-generic kernel, as provided in the default repositories (and following recommended upgrade on Intrepid); With this kernel, I can suspend/resume, but then, keyboard/mouse are not functional. Other st 2. I'm using the kernel boot option i8042.reset, that must be added to the Grub menu.lst file, in /boot/grub, as in the following: title Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.27-11-generic root (hd0,4) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-11-generic root=UUID=e805a537-55fa-4e4f-8f3d-866780911afc ro quiet splash i8042.reset initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.27-11-generic quiet savedefault 3. Finally, I'm not sure if it's necessary, but I did a BIOS upgrade, that has been identified as a potential fix for another bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/301353 This BIOS upgrade is provided by HP (the link here is for my specific model; other DV5 models could have a similar upgrade available): http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=ca&lang=en&product=3828098 -- [HP Pavilion dv5 Notebook PC] suspend/resume problem [non-free: nvidia] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332805 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
