Public bug reported: When I attempt to transfer large files over the Intel WiFi 4965 card in my Dell Vostro 1500 laptop running Kubuntu Jaunty 64, I have problems with Microcode SW errors. I get the error either after the wireless card has transferred 1.5GB of data, or if I turn the display on my laptop off by any method. I have reproduced both of these actions a number of times each, using the regular iwlagn driver and the linux- backports-modules driver. I never get this error unless I do try to transfer more that 1.5gb of data (in one large file, not many little ones) over the local network, or I close the lid while transferring such a file.
Here is the error I get: [ 286.265729] iwlagn: Microcode SW error detected. Restarting 0x2000000. [ 289.236173] iwlagn: Can't stop Rx DMA. The error also occurs no matter whether I am receiving or transmitting the file from my laptop.
