Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfree86-driver-synaptics

Expected Function: Touchpad controls mouse pointer location (at least)
in xorg.

What happened: After installation of Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty, the touchpad on
my MacBookPro4,1 is not functional within xorg. (It works fine in the
console with gpm installed). This touchpad uses the bcm5974 driver
(loaded).

Using Ubuntu Jaunty, up-to-date as of 3/1/2009.
