The patch which Andy referenced is available in the kernel for the latest pre-release of Jaunty 9.04 (currently Alpha 5) - http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/ . It contains a 2.6.28 based kernel. It would be great if someone could test with the latest Jaunty Alpha 5 LiveCD and confirm if this issue remains. Below is the jaunty git commit for this patch.
