I would like to report a similar frustration on my EeePC 701 2G.
Suspend seems to work properly, but resume does not. I am presented with
just a black screen.
I tried rebooting and suspending again to see if like IanW I was able to
resume and to my surprise it showed a pink cursor followed by screen of
green blue and white lines (garbled video error), It kept cycling
through this until I pressed the power button, then I was taken to a
garbled "X reconfiguration window" followed by a cursor in the top
middle (unreadable) part of the screen. This was followed by the
computer shutting itself off.
Although the symptoms were different, the base issue remains: EeePC 701
does not suspend/resume in Jaunty. Marking as confirmed.
