I am using an old Sony Vaio PCG-XG19 and am testing Kubuntu Gutsy
tribe1. When I boot from the CD (prior to doing any install) I will see
it boot and then start the KDE session. It gets into the KDE desktop,
and I see it open a window that says something like "scanning trash:/".
This stays on the screen for a while. What happens next varies.
Sometimes it proceeds normally - the window closes and the desktop is
fine. Sometimes I hear the "stinger" sound as though something crashed.
On at least several occasions the machine completely locked up, as in no
movement of the cursor when I touched the mousepad.

It did this in both normal and safe graphics modes.

     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Invalid
