Thanks Andrew. I have actually figured out the refresh thing and changed to
a lower res. but it doesn't seem to help.
The monitor stabilizes for a while, then the screen goes all fuzzy.

To figure out what refresh rate you have, poke around in the monitor's
menu (the buttons on the monitor) or try running this command: `cat
/var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep refresh` for refresh rate and  `cat
/var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep resolution` for your resolution.  If it
exceeds the above limits, then your monitor could be trying to run a
resolution/refresh combo it wasn't designed for.
