There is nothing 64bit incompatible about the module other than the way the module was written. There is no proprietary code and it most certainly will work in the future. The module author's website is: http://www.popies.net/sonypi/ I think that he should be informed of the incompatibility and that the changes must be made to the Linux Kernel itself.
