Hello, I added the jaunty repositories to mij sources list.
After sudo aptitude update I found no 2.6.28-8 kernel. But I did find a 2.6.28-1-rt kernel. But only two of the usual three parts: linux-headers-2.6.28-1-rt linux-headers-2.6.28-1-rt-generic This one is not present linux-image-2.6.28-1-rt Starting from this kernel very soon crashes with 'Kernel Panic - not synching - attempted to kill init!' So no solution here... Where did you get the 2.6.28-8 kernel from? Kind regards, Ronald [Bug 330788] Re: Newer kernels on thinkpad laptop do not boot lann to: ronald 28-02-2009 17:04 Sent by: [email protected] Please respond to Bug 330788 Hello I removed all the kernel 2.6.28-8 : sudo apt-get remove linux-headers-2.6.28-8 linux-headers-2.6.28-8-generic linux-image-2.6.28-8-generic --purge reboot the PC install the kernel 2.6.28-8 : sudo apt-get install linux-headers-2.6.28-8 linux- headers-2.6.28-8-generic linux-image-2.6.28-8-generic reboot on kernel 2.6.28-8 and everything work fine now.
