Public bug reported:
I installed Ubuntu Server 9.04 on an old Dell PowerEdge 400SC that is
connected to the rest of the world via a WiFi card. It's been running
for about a week now, but suddenly it stopped responding to network
packets (pings, tcp, etc.). I attached a monitor and saw this displayed
on the console:

Please note that I copied this message over by hand, so there may be
typos.
I tried also attaching a keyboard/mouse (I only have USB) to see if I
could scroll up, but they wouldn't light up, no matter which USB port I
inserted them into. This leads me to believe that the system has indeed
halted (as I guessed from "native_safe_halt").
