IOW it is the latest as of yesterday Mar 4th. It has been this way
since I started using Jaunty a month ago.
When I change resolutions and the Wireless Network icon is animated in
the panel (i.e. it is searching for networks), Sometimes the upper gnome
panel -- all of it -- disappears, and I am left with a blank desktop and
icons, and no menus. I expect that it will not disappear & that the
gnome panels will stay where they are when I switch resolutions.
I have a T400 and two external monitors. This happens when I change
resolution of the one of the monitors -- usually on the second time I
change resolutions -- when not mirrored. (I have to change resolutions
multiple times due to another bug in the Display Settings application.)
And I believe it is only when the Wireless icon in the taskbar applet
panel is animated -- when it is searching for a connection. If I
disable searching for wireless, or if I wait long enough for it to
acquire, I believe that the menus consistently stay around through a
resolution switch.
