This was supposedly fixed in
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=8a6ed44a8b2fc5f14729dc54fec17607ced03859
on the trunk just after the 1.6 release. If it does not enter the 1.6
branch, we should cherry-pick it. It looks like an obvious "thinko" fix
with no side-effects.
