Not enough info to troubleshoot this issue. We need some sort of error
message or backtrace at least.
See if you can reproduce the issue on Jaunty, and if so, please attach
your /var/log/Xorg.0.log and the output of lsusb. Also look in
/var/log/gdm/* files to see if there is an error there, or in
/var/log/syslog or the output of dmesg.
