Sorry that this slipped, I'm subscribed now. You are using a mirror, not
archive.ubuntu.com, but that should be alright (unless the mirror is
broken). Your previous test command output looks good, so reporting
bugs about firefox should work. However, I just realized that I should
have asked for
python -c 'import apt; print apt.Cache()["epiphany-
gecko"].candidateOrigin'
since that's what caused you problems. If that still says "origin:
'Ubuntu'", can you please try:
- start epiphany
- open a Terminal and do "killall -SEGV epiphany-browser"
- apport should come up [1]; say that you want to report the problem
- it collects information now; does it tell you that the package is not
"genuine Ubuntu", or does it show the report details?
[1] if it doesn't, you presumably use a stable release. Please enable it
again with
sudo gedit /etc/default/apport
and set "enabled=1". Then do the start/killall again.
