Public bug reported:
Trying to change the lcd brightness via FN keys or brightness applet or
'manually' (/usr/lib/hal/scripts/hal-system-lcd-set-brightness) does not work.
When I use the hal script i get the error: 10: hal-functions: not found.
Because my FN keys were not working a while ago, I set the brighness using a
script which writes into /proc/acpi/video/NVID/LCD/brightness. But this file
does not exist anymore.
i am currently running Intrepid 8.10 and the problem occurs on these kernels:
Linux laptop 2.6.27-11-generic
Linux laptop 2.6.28-8-generic #27-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 4 23:12:17 UTC 2009 i686
GNU/Linux
It was working fine with 2.6.27-7, i haven't tried with anything in
between as of yet. I *think* it was working under 2.6.27-9 as well
though.
