I think the network manager stuff is a red herring. I found this bug
upstream though: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=186200

I think that if we could narrow down what widget was causing the bug,
that'd be great. Maybe you could take a look at your plasma-appletsrc
file, make a list of the plasmoids you were using, and then move the
file to a different location and start adding the applets from the list
until it crashes?
