I've read it somewhere that this is a kernel driver issue (comment 23
also suggests this). Maybe the usb/sata chip used in these WD devices
has some bug which is workarounded by the Windows driver? Maybe someone
from the kernel team should take a look at this. Also if someone here
was brave enough to disassemble the case, could you please share with us
what make and type the usb/sata chip is?
