Hello John, Thank you for that info. It says that "Shockwave Flash" is installed and enabled. (I thought Shockwave and Flash were two separate things, but I presume that in the case of Linux/Firefox, they are combined...?)
I just successfully played a video on Youtube, so I presume flashplayer is working. I'm perplexed as to the reason for the crash I reported. I had thought at the time I reported the crash that I was doing a "good thing", but now I fear that it was an isolated anomoly for which much of your valuable time has been wasted. If that is the case, please accept my sincerest apologies.
