aha, I have located at least part of this... seems hal thinks an audio device is input... was looking into the hal thing xorg complained of in the log, and noticed: root 1161 0.0 0.0 28496 2020 ? S 18:08 0:00 hald-addon-input: Listening on /dev/input/event1 /dev/input/event0 /dev/input/event5 /dev/input/event3 /dev/input/event6
I am not sure what all those event devices are, but it appears one is an audio device... in fact, it is an output-only audio device... afraid im not too familiar with hal, so not sure where to look next, but I suspect getting hal to not grab that device will resolve at least part of this. -- X stops responting/updating, console switching still works https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/338495 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
