Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 8.10: System unable to detect optimized graphic resolution.

Description: System detects 1280*1024 as the optimized resolution
instead of 1440*900.

Steps to replicate:
1. Install a clean OS of Ubuntu on to the SUT.
2. As the installation process is completed, go to [System --> Preferences --> 
Screen Resolution] to view the current resolution which the system detected.

Expected Result: System should detects 1440*900 as the optimized
resolution instead of 1280*1024.
