** Description changed:

  Hello,

I'm an average ubuntu user. At a certain point Evolution started to
crash randomly. It crashed silently, just like killing it. It happened
while doing changes, receiving mails, and a lot just unexpectedly after
  a undefined period of time.

I was fed up with it and changed to thunderbird. I used a tutorial to
migrate to TB. Same symptoms began showing up. The big problem is: I
can't reproduce it! If I restart it, it just works, but waiting for
another crash. I couldn't reproduce it on Evolution also.
+
+ EDIT: I found a way to reproduce the crash in Thunderbird:
+ File->compress folders does AlWAYS crash.

In the meanwhile Firefox started crashing randomly and silently too. But
only on changing pages (mostly on big websites like newspaper websites
and Facebook), not when doing nothing.

I tried making a new profile for FF, didn't help. Also reinstalling
  flash plugin didn't help.

I tried to wait till such crash and do "dmesg | tail", but nothing
  related shows up.

As all these problems arrised around the same period of time (two or
three months already). I think they are related somehow. I reinstalled
ubuntu (because i screwed up the nvidia drivers last week, /home/ is on
different partition) but it still happens.

  Versions:
Evolution: don't remember which version, but the one shipped with ubuntu 8.04
Thunderbird: 2.0.0.19 (with lightning plugin and Firetray plugin)
Firefox: 3.0.6 (But also previous version)
Ubuntu: 8.10, 2.6.27-11 (And previous version)

Thank you if you can help me, if you need more info, just ask.
