This has been closed a long time I see. I found the bug on Google because I'm experiencing the exact same thing in Ubuntu Intrepid: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1058149
So either it's not fixed completely or it has been reintroduced. My version of gnome-screensaver is 2.24.0-0ubuntu2.
