Puppy Linux 4.1.2 runs without a problem while the 3XX (and earlier) versions did not. I haven't any idea as to what changed between these releases.
I had previously tried Arch and it installed and ran just fine. Tiny ME (20080524) installs and runs just fine. There must be some difference between these and Ubuntu in the way they approach the X-server discovery process.
