Sorry -- can't help. I already switch back to the hardy-updates kernel, and debian package management makes switching between kernel & linux- headers versions much too painful. Unlike the previous poster, I saw the errors coming out after posix_types.h instead of assert.h -- but then, he's using the ose version. The errors occurred either through dkms or using the init.d script (while he was using m-a to compile the module).
Everything, from linux-image through linux-headers, was the hardy- proposed 2.6.24-24 versions. Since I have only one ubuntu box with vbox, futzing with the kernel isn't worth the effort -- I'm posting primarily for others benefit, I'll simply pin the linux version until either someone reports a fix or the next LTS comes out. I'd expect that this won't be the only out-of-tree module to fail, as it is a minor-minor version and if it was a real kernel change (and not something like a shot path in the headers tree) one would see many reports on the vbox bug list. -- vbox modules won't compile on 2.6.24-24 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/338728 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
