Someone said, I should open a new bug report, when bug is still
  existing, here is it:

This bug still exists for me in linux-image-2.6.27-13-generic. Bug
became visible when i wanted to watch a movie, but my PC stopped playing
suddenly. The dvd-drive is still unusable, i can't even eject the dvd.

Mainboard is an WinFast K8T890M2AA, failing driver is pata_via.
It doesn't matter which cable I use, the problem exists with 40 wires and 80
wires.
With via82cxxx it should run fine (and did in former kernel-versions), but I
can't compile and install them. The modules Leszek posted in the old bug report
don't run with 2.6.27-13-generic, modprobe says the modules have a wrong format.
+ Could anyone compile them for me and other people who have the same problem?

  Some debugging information:
  flu...@flummi-desktop:~$ uname -a
  Linux flummi-desktop 2.6.27-13-generic #1 SMP Thu Feb 26 07:26:43 UTC 2009
i686 GNU/Linux

  flu...@flummi-desktop:~$ cat /proc/version_signature
  Ubuntu 2.6.27-13.29-generic

dmesg is attached here, lspci -vnvn follows.
