Binary package hint: dpkg

Problem started about three days ago when installing updates, ever since
no matter what I try (aptitude, synaptic etc.) dpkg will fail with one
or more (usually more) 'no space left on device' errors. At first it
told me to run 'dpkg --configure -a' which didn't work.

My disk is not full, output of df -h:

Tidbits: clean install of jaunty, amd64, used ext4 and encrypted home
directory
