Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: synaptic

in the following link :

http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=323279&highlight=apt-
get+proxy

I dont know if it's a Bug or Not.

I was trying to run apt-get or synaptic through ISA proxy, I tried all
possibilities given on forums, I even have a coleeg who works as
Landmark Engineer on Unix we went through all possibilities and no
chance still have the same problem.

In this post here, I am not trying to get the topic back again in a
diffrent way, but I realy want to appologies to you all great developers
when I said in that forum something like (I am on the way to get upset)
, I am realy sorry for that, you guys have done a great job on making
this system work and that saved me a lots of money as many other people
around the world, I am very sorry for that I shouldnt say that at all.

I didnt find a solution yet someone must know how to do it.

I hope that the next edition will make this easy to setup, I mean like
the Firefox you enter the proxy seting then when you execute the package
download an authentification window apear for username and password (you
know.. like firefox).

My appologies to what I said .

Ubuntu is the only Operating system on my personal machines since a year
from now, and I am very happy for that.

Many thanks
Ameur Mohamed
