Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org
I posted this bug in OO-Launchpad (http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=99212). They said, it's a problem only in the Ubuntu-Version of OO. I'm using Ubuntu intrepid. For info about the OO-Version, look at the screenshot. ----------- In navigator headlines are shown. Double-click on a headline normally causes the text window to jump to the appropriate chapter. Unfortunately, if there's a [+] or a [-] in front of the headline (in navigator), double click on the headline ALSO opens/closes the headlines of the next level. That's uncomfortable, because you have to make a second double-click on the major headline to re-open/re-close the subsequent ones. To replicate, use the attached sample.doc. In Navigator, try the following: 1. doubleclick on "Sample Headline H" --> the cursor jumps to Headline H --> this is correct 2. doubleclick on "Sample Headline C" --> the cursor jumps to Headline C, but ALSO, in navigator, the subordinates headlines (i.e.: Headline D and Headline E) are toggled (if already shown in navigator, they will be hidden, if not shown, the will appear) --> this is an side-effect of the doubleclick, which is NOT intended. If I'd have liked to open/close the subordinated headlines of Headline C, I'd have clicked on the "+". Currently, the same action (doubleclick on a headline in navigator) results in 3 different behaviours: - (a) just jump to the position in document (if there are no subordindated headlines); - (b) jump there in document and show subordinated headlines in navigator (if there are subordinated headlines which are not shown at the moment in navigator); - (c) jump there in document and hide subordinated headlines in navigator (if there are subordinated headlines which are already shown at the moment in navigator) This is not logic nor comfortable. Additional proposition: Also, there should be an option in navigator to show/hide ALL subordinated headlines of a certain headline. You could insert such an option in the context menu which appears after a right-click on a headline in navigator. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Navigator click on headlines with [+]/[-] > wrong behaviour https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340661 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
