Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

ISO testing: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20090311/jaunty-
desktop-amd64.iso

http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/Install/DesktopOem, testcase "Desktop
Ready For End User", Case ID: uoi-002

After installation and a reboot, I tried to run update manager and I got
the following error message:

"Sorry, Update Manager closes unexpectedly

If you were not doing anything confidential (entering
passwords or other private information), you can
help to improve the application by reporting the
problem."

etc..

I then clicked on the "Report Problem..." button and got the error
message:

"The problem cannot be reported:

Tou have some obsolete package versions installed. Please
upgrade the following packages and check if the problem
still occurs:

update-manager, update-manager-core"

I then updated from the command line (apt-get update ... etc) and then
the package manager worked OK.

Attached are png snapshots of the error message dialogue boxes.

** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
