Opened synaptic and marked "compiz" and "compizconfig-settings-manager"
This also installed:
compiz-gnome
libprotobuf3.
libcompizconfig0
compizconfig-backend-gconf
python-compizconfig
Logged out and back in and compiz is working fine once again.
