Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-i128
I have an intrepid install and a Number Nine Revolution IV AGP video card (32MB) with a SGI 1600SW LCD monitor. When I first installed intrepid running startx would be give me an error about and undefined symbol xf86usleep I found https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-i128/+bug/306970 and that problem was fixed. Then when I tried to run startx I got: Fatal server error: AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-i128/+bug/340750 fixed that problem. Now I have a working X session, but it only works once. I boot my PC, login, startx, do some work, logout of X, do more work, run startx again, and the PC freezes. The screen is black (backlight is on), the keyboard doesn't work. I have to press the reset button to get back to work. I also noticed that I can nolonger use 32bit color. I had to change my xorg.conf to use 16bit. I seem to have misplaced the error message when trying to use 32bit color.
