Public bug reported:
I had Ubuntu 7.04 installed on my old computer. I upgraded that to
7.10. Then when I upgraded to 8.04, and restarted the computer, it
failed to load. I've tried installing 8.04, 8.10 and 9.04 - all fail to
run Live or just Install. When either of those options is tried, a long
list of text flies by, and the final few lines are always about USB
