I am at a loss to explain this one, your /dev clearly contains a
/dev/pts and /dev/shm directory so I have no idea why you're seeing
mount complaining that the mount point does not exist.

There was a suspicious line in your mount output:

shmfs on /lib/init/rw/splashy type tmpfs (rw)

if shmfs is already mounted, perhaps this could cause it.  What is
"splashy" and where did you download it from?
