Public bug reported:
I have a HP Pavilion zv6000 with an AMD x64 Processor running Intrepid.
It was a clean install, and everything seems to be working great, except
for the sound buttons. When the mute button is pressed, it works fine.
When either the volume up or volume down is pressed, it's as if the
system doesn't know the button has been released. The volume
notification window will show the volume increasing or decreasing as it
reaches the max or min volume, as if the button is still being pressed.
It will remain open until I press the mute button. However, after this
is done, my keyboard no longer works, and is completely unresponsive.
The touchpad still responds, so I can still save programs. But, no
menus work as well. I cannot access any menu off the Gnome Panel on the
top of my screen. I have to restart the computer but using the Power
button, which fortunately still works on the laptop. After restarting,
everything works fine. I hope that explains the problem well enough.
If you need more info, please let me know! Thanks!
