** Description changed:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
Bug concerns the function "Text to columns..." ("text till kolumner..."
in swedish version) in the "Data"-menu of Open Office.org Calc,
(version 2.4).
Same behaviour when using the function both via the "Data"-menu or via
"Open..." (when opening a text document) in the "File"-menu.
The bug is related to "fixed width" (swedish "fast bredd") selection.
The function "Text to columns" fails to correctly split the text if there are
spaces first on the line.
The error depends on the position of the chosen split.
The error appears on rows that have spaces up until or above the split
position + 1 space.
- Example: if the user chose to split between character 5 and 6 rows with 7
spaces or more will have a faulty first column.
+ Example: if the user chose to split between character 5 and 6, rows with 7
spaces or more will have a faulty first column.
Se attached files.
P.s.
It would be great if a selection for keeping the text as text and not
converting it to numbers could be made.
