I just tested again. In Hardy (well, gNewSense):
asoundconf set-default-card foo Start Sound Recorder => error about multimedia settings In Intrepid: asoundconf set-default-card foo Start Sound Recorder => no error Recording from input Capture works. So it looks like it's fixed in Intrepid. -- "Your audio capture settings are invalid.
