I would not recommend installing Jaunty packages on Intrepid, there are
too many dependencies and you will end up with something more "alpha"
than what Jaunty is today. You may try the updated Intrepid -ati/-radeon
packages in my PPA to see if they fix the issue:

I will close this bug since it seems to be fixed in Jaunty, but please
reopen if you see it again.
