Public bug reported:

Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10
Kernel: 2.6.27-11-generic
My Hardware: Compaq C700 laptop

The Fn keys were working perfectly well when I first installed Ubuntu
8.10 few months ago. But now some of the Fn keys functions have gotten
jumbled up and some don't work. (Happened after i tried increasing
brightness while playing a video fullscreen)

Problems:

Fn+F6 => Should lock session => But now it does Volume Mute/Unmute,
which should actually be 'Fn+home' combination. However 'Fn+home' still
does the Volume Mute/Unmute

Fn+F10 => Should be 'Playback Stop' => But now it does Volume Down.
However Fn+Pgdn still does Volume down correctly.

Fn+F7 => Should be Brightness Down => Doesn't do anything now.

Fn+F8 => Should be Brightness Up => Doesn't do anything now.

During video playback on fullscreen : Fn+F8 => Should increase screen
brightness => Does 'Play Previous video', which is Fn+F11, However
Fn+F11 still does 'play previous video'

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
