Public bug reported: This bug report applies to Ubuntu edgy Eft 6.10 and the ntp-simple package.
The webpage at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NTPTimeSynchronisation#head-7ce84659ce7371da7976d6527d1e0263297e90ff is misleading. It states that it is enough to install ntp-simple to setup the ntpd process. But this package neither installs the configuration files in /etc nor does it put a script into /etc/init.d to start ntpd automatically. So please update the documentation how it is done correctly. Thanks a lot, Fabian Package: ntp-simple Status: install ok installed Priority: optional Section: net Installed-Size: 280 Maintainer: Ubuntu Core Developers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Architecture: i386 Source: ntp Version: 1:4.2.0a+stable-9ubuntu2 ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- help.ubuntu.com page about ntpd is misleading https://launchpad.net/bugs/77506 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
