I cannot stop the network on ubuntu9.04 alpha 4 with the command
"/etc/init.d/network stop".
more infor:
1. The NIC is broadcom 5785, device id is 0x1699.
2. See the same issue with other broadcom nic, such 5755.
3. "ifconfig eth0 down" can stop the network
4. Don't see the file "ifcfg-eth0" in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/
