** Description changed: I did a dist-upgrade using update-manager -d, everything went well until I rebooted and got to the new GDM login window. That's when my mouse and keyboard froze. I can't move my mouse nor can I switch to a terminal - it's like it's physically unplugged. I tried both USB and PS/2 interfaces with no luck and I have to physically power off my box by pressing the off button for 5+ secs. I rebooted into a Recovery console and purged GDM and installed KDM - but still proved unsuccessful since mouse and keyboard remained frozen. I did the same thing by install installing SLIM but bug still won't let me do anything. This might be an Xorg bug since I've already tried gdm, kdm, and slim. I can't attach crash logs, etc since my workstation remains unresponsive. I can access the logs via recovery console, but I don't think I'll be able to attach them here via Links. eMachines T2798 (2.7GHz Celeron, 512MB RAM) WORKAROUND for PS/2 - in /etc/rc.locall add: + in /etc/rc.local add: rmmod psmouse modprobe psmouse proto=imps
