** Summary changed:

- Incorrect timezone shown in graphical map
+ Installer highlights incorrect time zone for some cities

** Description changed:

- In 9.04 daily from 3/11/09
+ Jaunty daily, 2009-03-11
+ Jaunty alpha 6

- What happens:
- When using the new timezone map to select my timezone, I select the West
Coast of the US (I'm in Oregon). This selects the correct timezone, but lists
the city as Tijuana. Because I'm not sure if selecting this will have adverse
affects in other settings of the OS (ie, will pesos be by default curency?), I
then select Los Angelas. The map then changes from showing the PST timezone to
the MST timezone, although the city shown in the map is in the correct
location. AFAIK, the correct timezone is still
+ 1. In the installer, advance to the "Where are you?" step.
+ 2. From the menus, choose any of these cities:
+ - "America" > "New York"
+ - "America" > "Los Angeles"
+ - "Australia" > "Perth"
+ - "Australia" > "Melbourne"
+ - "Australia" > "Sydney"
+ - "Pacific" > "Auckland"

- What was expected to happen:
- The highlighted timezone should have not changed.
+ What happens: The time zone immediately to the east of the selected city is
highlighted.
+ What should happen: The time zone that the city is actually in is highlighted.

- Steps to reproduce:
- Boot to jaunty live disk
- Select Install
- Click on the west coast of USA in the map
- Select Los Angelas from the drop down menu
- Watch the map change the highlighted timezone
+ The same problem does not happen with other cities, such as "Europe" >
+ "London", "Europe" > "Paris", or "Australia" > "Darwin".
+
+ (This bug report previously also covered cities being shown in the wrong
+ place, which is reported separately as bug 334284. Also do not confuse
+ this with bug 342586, about some cities being completely unclickable.)
