Public bug reported:
When I use lsusb to display the detected usb devices this is what I get:
=========================================
Bus 005 Device 003: ID 145f:0142
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 045e:0040 Microsoft Corp. Wheel Mouse Optical
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
=========================================
The first line refers to my webcam, it doesn't appear when I run lsusb
with my webcam unplugged. All I get is the 8 digit number with a colon
in the middle. No vendor/type information. I would expect something
such as "Trust. Webcam" to be displayed as well.
btw: Cheese 2.24.2 can take snapshots.
kernel version: 2.6.27-11
Ubuntu 8.10
Trust WB-6250X Webcam
