Can you detail the versions of notify-osd and gnome-power-manager you're
using?
The expected behavior if that if an incompatible version of the
notification daemon (notify-osd or notification-daemon) is running, gpm
will fallback to displaying the old feedback icon at the center of the
screen.
Are you seeing a black notification bubble without icon? or neither a
black notification nor the old feedback icon?
