Public bug reported:

When i try to use my USB flash drive for storing a big file (a 700 mb
movie file, for instance) the data transfer rate TO the removable device
starts with 3.1 MB/s and then keeps reducing until it reaches .6 MB/s,
and remains constant thereafter. The FROM USB flash drive rate is fine.
I know that my hardware is good because when i try to do the same thing
using Windows Vista on the same machine, the data transfer rate is about
5 MBps throughtout the process.

Details of my Machine are:
Vendor - HP
Motherboard - Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.06 GHz 32 bit
RAM - 512 mb
USB flash drives - tried using moserbaer and transcend

However, this problem doesn't occur on my Sony Vaio laptop.
